Job Description
My client, a large, accomplished Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their expert team of engineers, based in the lively city of Leeds, the unofficial capital of Yorkshire.
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline (or extensive experience within the industry)
- Extensive experience within flood risk and drainage, including experience with design guidance to align with relevant laws and regulations
- Demonstrable experience of managing a range of projects
- Experience liaising with a range of clients across the public and private sectors, with an acute commercial awareness
- Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software), etc.
Desirable Skills:
- Professional Body Chartered Membership (or proactively working towards Chartered Status)
- Outstanding communication skills when liaising with colleagues and stakeholders
- Good time management skills, and ability to adapt quickly to changing situations

- Managing projects from inception to completion
- Preparing proposals and tenders, utilizing technical and commercial experience
- Overseeing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies
- Leading the team to produce conceptual drainage designs incorporating SuDS techniques and relevant plans
- Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings
- Completing Flood Risk Appraisals, providing risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
- Line managing a team of professionals, mentoring their development
