Job summary

Marks Consulting Partners Limited is seeking an Associate/Principal Fire Engineer to lead fire strategy, design and consultancy across diverse projects in London, Bristol or Birmingham. The role offers a £70,000–£80,000 salary plus car allowance and bonus, with flexible hybrid working and strong client exposure.

You will shape the new in-house fire engineering capability, support due diligence and build lasting client relationships while progressing toward leadership within 2–3 years.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant STEM field is required.
• Experience with CFD and evacuation modelling is essential.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety standards (ADB, BS 9999, BS 7974) is expected.

A respected independent consultancy is building a new in-house fire engineering capability and needs an ambitious Fire Engineer to help shape it.

You will join with live client demand, strong multidisciplinary support and genuine influence over how the service develops.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver fire strategy, design and consultancy across varied projects
• Support technical due diligence, remediation and redevelopment work
• Advise clients and internal teams on fire and building safety
• Contribute to service development, client relationships and work winning
• Grow your profile while progressing towards leadership

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant STEM discipline with further fire qualifications
• Client-facing consultancy experience advantageous
• Strong knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and BS 7974
• Experience with CFD and evacuation modelling
• MIFireE membership, with IEng or CEng achieved or in progress
• FRA and FRAEW experience is desirable
