Job summary

CLSA in London is seeking an experienced Equity Derivatives Middle Office/Trade Support specialist to oversee daily trade processing across Cash equity, Listed Futures and Options and OTC derivatives including FX, NDF and Structure Options. You will work closely with Front Office, clients and external counterparties to ensure accurate trade capture and timely settlements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Middle Office/Trade Support.
• Understanding of equity derivatives and lifecycle events.
• Familiarity with ISDA/CSA master agreements a plus.
• Experience with Asia and US equity markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and validate trade flow for EQD: cash equity, listed futures/options and OTC derivatives.
• Coordinate with Front/M Middle/Back Office to record transactions accurately and timely.
• Liaise with clients and external counterparties to meet daily deliverables.
• Process corporate actions, post-trade events and lifecycle events.
• Perform root cause analyses and suggest process improvements.
• Represent Operations in system enhancement projects.
• Participate in New Product Approval processes.
• Interact with Audit, Finance, Product Control and Risk to ensure accurate trade capture.
• Perform reconciliations and guide junior staff on complex workflows.
• Set up swap business static data; knowledge of Collateral Manager is a plus.

Position Description

The role supports CLSA’s expanding Equity Derivatives business in London, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of a broad range of listed OTC products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operational activities, maintaining strong controls, and meeting key service level agreements. Working closely with Front Office, clients, and external counterparties, they will help ensure seamless trade processing throughout the transaction lifecycle. In addition, the role offers opportunities to contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and new business developments.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Manage and Validate all trade flow for EQD department including Cash equity, Listed Future and Options and OTC derivatives including FX, NDF, Equity Linked Swap, Portfolio Swap and Structure Option
• Communication and team work with the various Front, Middle and Back office teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
• Working with Clients and external stakeholders such as PB’s in order to ensure daily deliverables are met.
• Processing of corporate actions, post trade and life-cycle events.
• Root cause analysis of issues and suggestions to process improvements
• Represent Operations team for system enhancement project
• Participate in New Product Approval process
• Interaction with other CLSA departments such as Audit, Finance, Product Control and Risk to ensure accurate trade capture.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree
• At least 3 years’ experience in Middle Office / Trade Support role
• Understanding of equity derivatives product and lifecycle events. Having knowledge of ISDA/CSA Master agreements and definitions is a plus
• Understanding of Asia and US equity markets
• Good understanding in front-to-back operations flow
• Control focused and with a track record of excelling in Operations team
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment and to manage various stakeholders in order to meet various expectations
• Strong Organizational, Communication and Prioritization skills
• Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks
• Excellent PC skills including MS Office (particular Excel/VBA)
• Good verbal and written English
