What’s the opportunity?

An Associate Engineering Manager oversees the reliable delivery and operation of high-quality products. You will coordinate product delivery aspects such as engineering, testing, and work sequencing, collaborating closely with the Engineering & Product Director to ensure the product meets customer and business needs. Your focus will be on building a high-performing engineering team and ensuring quality in execution.

Here’s how you’ll do it

• Team health: Support team members' career growth, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and ensure processes support delivery excellence. Typically manage one or a few related squads.
• System fitness: Collaborate with engineers to refine product architecture in response to new requirements, risks, and priorities, ensuring needs of users, business, and team are met.
• Predictable delivery: Work with the Director to balance quality, risk, and value, establishing and adapting delivery timelines with early warning signals.
• Setting the standard: Lead by example in quality, engagement, commitments, continual improvement, and data-driven decisions, maintaining a clear understanding of the system as a whole.

What does good look like?

• Held the role of Senior Software Engineer or above for 2+ years
• Strong technical background in software development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Experience developing and implementing engineering strategies
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Must have resided in the UK for at least three years for vetting purposes
