Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our Construction Engineering team, delivering safe, buildable engineering solutions across diverse projects. You’ll lead temporary works design, manage multidisciplinary coordination and contribute to high-quality design deliverables.

You’ll work with clients and design teams, providing technical assessments and supporting tender activities. This is a leadership role within Kier’s extensive UK portfolio and design consultancy network.

Qualifications

• Chartered member of a relevant institution (e.g. CEng MICE) with significant experience.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services and temporary works design.
• Skilled in design management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Confident in providing technical assessment and review of third-party designs.

Responsibilities

• As Associate Engineer, support Construction Engineering team in delivering safe, buildable engineering solutions.
• Lead temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works as applicable.
• Provide tender and bid support including feasibility studies and outline design schemes.
• Managing the delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering opportunities.
• Overseeing project teams, ensuring technical compliance and quality of design deliverables.
• Building positive relationships with clients and design teams, representing Kier at project meetings.
