As the UK's communications regulator, we're delivering vital work to make communications work for everyone.
Our work covers everything from phones and broadband, through to online safety, TV and radio, the postal service, and wireless devices. We need people of all backgrounds, skill sets, and experiences to help us achieve our ambitions on behalf of the British public.
The Enforcement team plays a critical role in ensuring that the regulation and policy we put in place to protect consumers and citizens is effective. The Enforcement team identify and respond to non compliance affecting consumers and competition in the telecommunications, postal and broadcasting sectors. The team works with policy teams across Ofcom, carries out advocacy work with stakeholders and actively enforces the regulatory conditions that Ofcom imposes on regulated providers, as well as enforcing general consumer and competition law. We routinely monitor complaints, analyse evidence and take swift action to deal firmly and effectively where we see harm, including opening formal investigations, issuing penalties and seeking redress where appropriate.
As Ofcom's responsibilities continue to evolve, the Enforcement team is increasingly at the forefront of some of the most significant challenges facing the UK, from helping to make the online world safer to protecting the security and resilience of the communications networks and digital infrastructure that keep the country connected.
Our Associate roles are key to carrying out effective and robust enforcement activity. You will help deliver enforcement projects and casework as well as supporting the team's enforcement input to key policy projects and advocacy work to promote deterrence.
You will need project management skills to organise tasks and set clear goals, managing resources effectively, whilst keeping an eye on progress.
You will need strong verbal and written communication skills. Written communication and drafting skills are important in developing clear documents addressing key issues. You will have the ability to express your ideas, thoughts, and information in a clear and concise manner, ensuring messages are understood by everyone.
You can work effectively with others, creating an honest team environment and sharing valuable information and resources. You can work collaboratively with others to deliver a specific workstream within a larger project.
You will identify and solve issues by using well-thought-out strategies, considering different angles and potential solutions to resolve concerns.
You are able to successfully build and nurture positive relationships with people inside and outside the organisation.
IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office products.
