Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking an Associate Engineer - Electrical Building Services in London to lead electrical design across multidisciplinary projects in the built environment and defence sectors.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and ensure compliance with standards while contributing to proposals and business growth. This role emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous development in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Electrical Building Services Design (construction projects).
• Experience delivering projects within consultancy, contractor, or multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles for construction projects.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers.
• Opportunity to work on nationally significant projects across Nuclear, Defence, Infrastructure and other regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities across multidisciplinary projects.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal project teams.
• Support project planning, resource management and commercial delivery.
• Mentor and develop engineers and graduates within the team.
• Ensure designs meet standards, quality requirements and client expectations.
