Job Title: Assistant Director - Transaction ServicesLocation: BirminghamDeal Advisory/Transaction ServicesAbout the RoleI am looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager/Assistant Director to join my clients growing Transaction Services team. You will take a leading role in delivering high-quality financial due diligence across a range of complex transactions, including M&A, carve-outs, and refinancings. You'll work with both private equity and corporate clients across a broad range of sectors, supporting strategic decision-making on high-profile deals.
This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, high levels of autonomy, and a clear progression path to Director.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end delivery of financial due diligence engagements (buy-side, vendor due diligence, and vendor assistance), ensuring commercial and financial insights are tailored to the audience.
- Take ownership of core workstreams and deliverables including:
- Quality of Earnings (QoE)
- Adjusted Net Working Capital and Net Debt analysis
- Enterprise Value to Consideration bridges (e.g., Locked Box analysis)
- Sensitivity and scenario modelling of forecast assumptions
- Provide expert challenge to client and target forecast models, including identifying key value drivers, stress testing assumptions, and producing bespoke analysis to support investment decisions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and other advisors throughout the deal lifecycle, including information scoping, issue resolution, and timeline management.
- Facilitate and lead Q&A sessions with clients and target management, driving commercial insights and interrogating unusual results.
- Review and sign off on work prepared by Managers and junior team members, ensuring outputs are insightful, technically sound, and client-ready.
- Support Directors and Partners with the development of client relationships and pitches, contributing to business development activities and wider practice growth.
- Take an active role in coaching and developing team members, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting individual progression within the team.
Key Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with significant post-qualified experience in Transaction Services or Financial Due Diligence.
- Experience at Manager level or above within a Big 4, mid-tier advisory firm, or a corporate finance boutique.
- Proven track record of delivering large and/or complex financial due diligence engagements across multiple sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to communicate key insights to senior stakeholders in a clear and actionable way.
- Excellent report writing and financial modelling skills.
- A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
