About The Role

The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership in Safety Assurance across various projects and manage the Safety Assurance team.

You will support business development and may work on international projects, including travel within the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Lead safety assurance activities and manage staff across projects.
  • Ensure system safety compliance, risk analysis, and safety product preparation.
  • Manage system safety products, hazard identification, and safety cases.
  • Conduct hazard identification workshops and manage hazard records.
  • Define risk acceptance principles and safety measures.
  • Provide compliance evidence for safety regulations and work with assessment bodies.
  • Develop safety cases, reliability analysis, and safety reports.
  • Lead reporting, hazard logs, and safety assurance documentation.
  • Verify design and construction for safety and reliability.
  • Manage team resources and stakeholder communication.
  • Support financial management, contracts, and business development.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality policies.
Minimum Requirements
  • 10-15 years of engineering/technical experience, with at least 5 years as a Principal Engineer or Associate.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, railway systems, and operations.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and technical management skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSc or higher in engineering or related field.
  • Chartered status or equivalent.
  • Experience in industry working groups and infrastructure procurement.
  • Knowledge of the rail environment.
