Some careers shine brighter than others.

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfill your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support, and rewards that will take you further.

Our Global Private Banking business provides banking, investment, and wealth management solutions to help high net worth clients and their families achieve their ambitions. We also advise on topics including wealth planning, alternative investments, and family governance. Our experts in philanthropy support clients in their objectives to have a positive impact on society. As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package, including private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay, support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

The role of Product Specialist Trader involves performing trade execution across various asset classes and markets for HSBC UK’s Advisory, Discretionary, and Execution Only business. This role will also require working as part of a team covering the US market on a rota basis from 13:30 to 21:30, so flexibility to work this schedule is essential.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform trade execution of equities, fixed income, funds, FX (spot & forward), bullion, Dual Currency Investments, and OTC derivatives.
  • Have direct client contact to confirm investment instructions, relay market and pricing information, and explain trading capabilities.
  • Support Investment Counsellors and Relationship Managers, including order entry into Front Office systems.
  • Promote execution capabilities internally and to the Private Bank’s client base.
  • Collaborate with Back Office and Operations on process improvements and investigate failed trades.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Significant experience in trade execution (essential).
  • In-depth knowledge of various asset classes, particularly Bonds, FX, and Equities (desirable).
  • Private Banking or Wealth Management experience (essential).
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • CISI Level 4 qualification or equivalent regulated qualification (essential).

This role is based in London.
