Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Associate Director Mechanical Engineering in the Water Sector to lead design teams delivering high‑quality mechanical solutions across the project lifecycle.

You will own design delivery, manage budgets and timelines, and collaborate with UK and overseas teams while advancing quality standards and developing capability within the practice.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer with significant water sector experience.
• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Experience owning design delivery and multidisciplinary design.

Responsibilities

• Own and direct teams who undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, to high-quality levels.
• Defining briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
• Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Setting quality assurance standards in design.
• Grow, develop and manage mechanical engineering capability within the practice.

My Client is recruiting for an Associate Director Mechanical Engineering in the Water Sector. Your Purpose:

• Experience in owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• Comprehensive knowledge in mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant as well as an deep understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
