Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Transportation is seeking an Associate Director in Intelligent Mobility to shape transport projects and lead multidisciplinary teams. You will work with National Highways and local authorities, building trusted relationships and delivering smarter, safer networks.

Based in a hybrid model with locations such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, you’ll drive growth and mentor colleagues while aligning with the Transportation business plan.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Track record of identifying opportunities, developing solutions and converting ideas into projects.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering complex Intelligent Mobility or ITS projects.
• Engages confidently with clients, partners and colleagues at senior levels.
• Commercial awareness with a client-focused mindset.
• Experience mentoring and developing colleagues within teams.
• Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline; chartership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Open opportunities in the North and Scotland to support growth.
• Lead growth, develop people and ensure technical excellence across the teams.
• Promote IT&I practice externally and support senior leadership targets.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure best solutions for clients.
• Act as Project Director or Technical Reviewer on key commissions.
• Steer work winning and delivery in Scotland and the North of England.
• Mentor colleagues to build resilience and capability.
