Join us at Barclays as an Associate Director within the International Corporate Bank Financial Energy Transition & Commodities team. You will play a key role in assisting the Relationship Director with managing banking requirements across a portfolio of clients in the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sectors. This role offers an opportunity to support existing relationships, take ownership of accounts, and contribute to the sector's success.

To be successful as an Associate Director, you should have experience with:

  • Corporate Banking product knowledge (cash management, Wholesale Lending, Trade Finance, FX, Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets)
  • Corporate coverage relationship management (Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure preferred but not essential)
  • Understanding of Investment Banking product offerings and their relevance to client needs

Additional valued skills include:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Effective credit skills, financial data analysis and interpretation
  • Sector knowledge of the Middle East, APAC, and Africa (beneficial)

The role may involve assessment on critical skills such as risk management, change, transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technological skills.

This position is based in London.

Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients, acting as a bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs for mutual and long-term success.

Accountabilities

  • Manage client relationships, understand their financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Research industry trends, regulations, and the competitive landscape to inform strategic advice.
  • Design customized solutions using a range of bank products and services.
  • Communicate the value proposition, justify recommendations, and negotiate beneficial terms.
  • Guide clients in financial decisions, offering investment, risk management, and wealth strategies, and market updates.
  • Assess and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Document interactions and transactions, and communicate findings to support product development and strategy.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and revenue metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
