Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to be based in Glasgow. You will lead a team in delivering pre- and post-contract Cost & Commercial Management services for key clients in the Scotland market, including Scottish Power and Glasgow Airport.

Job Overview

At WSP, you will play a pivotal role in pre‑ and post‑contract Cost & Commercial Management services to our clients—including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance, and post‑contract financial/commercial management of projects ranging in size and complexity. This role focuses on the Scotland market, delivering services for clients such as Scottish Power, Glasgow Airport, Essendi Hotels, various local authorities, life‑science clients and private development companies delivering residential schemes in the BtR and PBSA markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide QS commercial services, leading a team and mentoring staff
• Bid writing, winning work and managing project delivery
• People leadership and management
• Represent WSP UK at industry events
• Deliver pre‑ and post‑contract Cost & Commercial Management services, including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance and post‑contract financial/commercial management

• Proven organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Willingness to challenge the status quo, try innovative solutions and learn from experience
• Collaborative skills for working effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong knowledge/experience of NEC and / or JCT Contracts, and other industry standard contract forms
• Previous experience of working in a QS/Cost and Commercial Management role in a consultant, contractor, or client organisation

Desirable

Familiarity or working knowledge of specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR.
