Job description

An established and highly regarded independent consultancy and the longest-established quantity surveying and cost consultancy practices with a strong reputation for delivering trusted, high-quality professional services across the built environment is looking for an Associate Director (Commercial) to take the lead position in their Manchester based team.

As Associate Director (Commercial) you will take responsibility for leading on and developing the service offering within your assigned cost centre. You will lead, manage and engage your team(s) and be responsible for advocating, promoting and ensuring compliance of all strategies, policies and procedures, throughout your area of responsibility.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take initiative and run their own office and aim toward promotion to Company Director within 2 years

The main responsibilities of The Associate Director (Commercial) include, but are not limited to:

• Leading and managing teams within your assigned cost centre on a day-to-day basis to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
• Liaise with Regional Directors and Technical Directors, in respect of current and future resource requirements to ensure appropriate resource levels are maintained throughout the project(s) or commission.
• Supporting business development opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, clients, etc and building strong client relationships to maximise opportunities on existing commissions and win repeat business.
• In liaison with Regional Directors, support the tendering/bids process by drafting effective case studies, technical submissions and any other relevant information required for submissions.
• Supporting the review of bid/tender feedback received and undertake a process of lessons learnt to continually improve our bid/tender submissions process.
• Supporting the preparation of fee proposals and annual rate reviews for projects in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team and managing costs against agreed fee proposals, seeking timely client approval of change.
• Prepare fee forecasts and other related documentation for your area of responsibility.
• Assist and support the fee account process as required.
• Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
• Ensuring awareness and compliance with both RICS and the companies Code of Ethics, and promptly addressing any ethical question or concern raised.

Education/Qualifications:

• Significant demonstrable client side industry experience essential (Infrastructure, Construction Transportation etc) and able to demonstrate technical skill, experience, and competence.
• Degree educated.
• Ideally have experience working for a consultancy
• Professionally qualified member of RICS or similar recognised body is preferred but not essential.

• Competent IT skills – basic experience of Microsoft Office essential.

Salary in the region of £85,000 - £95,000 plus package including lucrative bonus scheme, hybrid working and much more.
