Your new role and team

Our thriving Leeds office is central to Ramboll's growth plans in the UK. Presently, the team comprises over 75 experts with multi-disciplinary backgrounds, providing our clients with a diverse array of services such as building structures, building services, environmental analysis, geotechnical support, highways engineering, and project management.

The office has a long history in the city having been established in Leeds for over 15 years and is located on The Headrow. Being in the heart of the city centre it offers easy access to what the city has to offer, including its cafes, restaurants and shops. We have cycle storage and shower facilities and are only a short walk from the train station.

As our new Associate/Director, you will be responsible for guiding the growth and development of our Structures team within our Leeds office. You will be working with our existing Structures team across the North of England, building on our established capabilities in commercial, residential, education, healthcare, heritage, industrial, defence and government projects.

Working closely with the other team leaders in Leeds, you will be responsible for aspects of team management, growth and development, financial performance of projects, client relationships and business development of new and existing markets. Our long-established office in Leeds requires that the projects delivered by the team are across a variety of sectors.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and grow the Leeds Structures team, in conjunction with the other discipline team leaders and their growth strategies.
  • Raise the profile and reputation of Ramboll’s multi-disciplinary capability in the regional market, the UK and internationally.
  • Candidates will be expected to market our offering extensively via networking, business to business meetings, seminars, thought leadership and general business development.
  • Win and deliver projects profitably and to the satisfaction of our clients.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of a portfolio of projects.
  • Develop a strategy for growth comprising, but not limited to, technical excellence, digital working, work winning, our people, and our sustainability goals.
  • Attract talented recruits to grow a skilled, innovative, efficient and highly regarded team

About you

These include:

  • Degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and holding Chartered Engineer status, having a proven and demonstrable previous experience with your discipline.
  • Proven knowledge of the regional market.
  • Established history of delivering major projects between £20m-100m+ in the industry.
  • Demonstration of aptitude for team leadership and ambition for senior leadership career progression.
  • Proficient in leading and supervising all aspects of project delivery.
  • High degree of technical competence with demonstrable appreciation of sustainable design.
  • A notable/growing profile and reputation as a highly regarded, well liked and trusted Structural Engineering Associate/Director.
  • Experienced at presenting to clients, preparing and negotiating proposals, and procuring project resources.
  • Proven ability to win business for the company. Understands the marketplace, the growth sectors and busy clients.
  • Knowledgeable of pipeline opportunities and capable of positioning Ramboll to win.
