About Us

At Focaldata, we are on a mission to close the knowledge gap on public opinion. Our research team is central to this goal. We are seeking an Associate Director to help expand our research capabilities, team, and client base. You will lead a team of researchers, pioneer new market research tools and analytical techniques, and address complex issues in public opinion analysis.

What You’ll Do

This role offers the opportunity to enhance our research capabilities. You will:

• Oversee the entire delivery of research projects, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
• Establish best practices and standards for project execution and quality assurance.
• Mentor researchers through coaching, feedback, and quality checks.
• Develop and manage your team, including conducting reviews and training.
• Manage key client relationships, understanding their needs and identifying growth opportunities.
• Drive business success by improving proposal conversions and project impact.
• Secure new business opportunities through confident proposal writing and client engagement.
• Assist in hiring and scaling the research team, setting high standards for new hires.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in research consulting, primarily quantitative work.
• Experience managing large, complex research projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality research from start to finish.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance client needs with business goals.
• Experience mentoring and managing research team members.
• Ability to write and deliver compelling proposals.

Nice to Have

• Experience in hiring and expanding research teams.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset and ownership of improvements.

Please note: This role is primarily in-office (4 days/week).

Compensation

£65,000 - £75,000 GBP annually (London)
