Job summary

C3 Consultancy recruiting an Associate Director to lead its energy and sustainability consultancy, based at Hull and Leeds. You’ll head a multidisciplinary team of Energy Consultants, Building Services Engineers and Designers while driving growth and strengthening client relationships.

This role suits an experienced professional delivering energy strategies, decarbonisation plans, energy audits and feasibility studies for public and private sector organisations.

Qualifications

• Proven senior-level experience in building services, energy efficiency, Net Zero or renewables.
• Experience leading and developing technical, engineering or design teams for client consultancy.
• Track record in business development, tendering and securing projects with senior client relationships.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness with responsibility for project performance and profitability.
• Relevant engineering, energy or sustainability qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the business strategy, annual plan and growth objectives.
• Win projects through bids, tenders and proposals across Net Zero, sustainability and M&E design.
• Provide senior technical oversight across energy audits, decarbonisation plans and feasibility studies.
• Lead and mentor the technical team with clear objectives and performance reviews.
• Strengthen governance with budgets, invoicing, margins and delivery risk management.

C3 Consultancy is recruiting an Associate Director to lead its established energy and sustainability consultancy.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of Energy Consultants, Building Services Engineers and Designers while driving growth, strengthening client relationships and developing C3 Group’s profile across the industry.

This opportunity would suit an experienced professional within energy, building services or decarbonisation consultancy delivering work for external clients, covering estate energy strategies, heat decarbonisation plans, energy audits, and feasibility studies to public and private sector organisations.

• Lead and grow an established energy and sustainability consultancy, shaping its strategy, structure and future direction.
• Take full commercial ownership of pipeline, revenue, profitability, utilisation, forecasting and fee recovery.

• Win new projects through bids, tenders, frameworks and proposals across Net Zero, sustainability consultancy and M&E design.
• Provide senior technical oversight across energy audits, heat decarbonisation plans, feasibility studies, retrofit programmes and low-carbon designs.
• Lead, develop and resource the technical team, introducing clear objectives, mentoring, performance reviews and development plans.
• Strengthen project governance by monitoring programmes, budgets, work in progress, invoicing, margins, quality and delivery risks.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Strong senior-level experience within building services, energy efficiency, Net Zero or renewables.
• Client consultancy experience leading and developing technical, engineering or design teams.
• A successful track record of business development, tendering, securing projects and building senior client relationships.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing project performance, resources and profitability.
• A relevant engineering, energy or sustainability qualification.
