Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an Associate Building Surveyor in Manchester to lead high-quality surveying services across a range of client projects. You will conduct surveys, prepare specs and cost estimates, and manage refurbishment and maintenance from planning to delivery.

The role requires MRICS status or near-chartered level, solid consultancy experience, and a commercial mindset. You will mentor junior staff and drive project success on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification, or close to achieving chartered status.
• Strong experience within building surveying consultancy.
• Knowledge of building pathology, construction methods and relevant legislation.
• Experience of contract administration and project delivery.
• Strong communication and client management skills.
• Ability to manage workload while supporting others.
• Commercial mindset and growth focus for the business.

Responsibilities

• Providing professional building surveying advice to clients.
• Undertaking building surveys, condition surveys and defect inspections.
• Preparing specifications, schedules of works and contract documentation.
• Managing and delivering refurbishment and maintenance projects.
• Administering building contracts and monitoring works on site.
• Preparing reports, budgets and cost estimates.
• Managing client relationships and contributing to business development.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Taking responsibility for successful delivery of projects, including programme, quality and commercial performance.
