Property Options Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join their established Building Surveying team in London. You will take a lead role in project delivery, while supporting the development of junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires MRICS or working towards chartership, extensive Building Surveying experience, and a proactive, commercially aware approach.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or working towards chartership.
  • Significant post-qualification or relevant Building Surveying experience.
  • Strong experience across professional and project Building Surveying services.
  • Proven experience of Contract Administration and Employers Agent duties.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, defects and refurbishment.
  • Experience preparing specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant surveying/project management software advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of Building Surveying projects across varied client portfolios.
  • Work with senior colleagues and clients; mentor juniors.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
  • Administer contracts and act as Employers Agent.
  • Manage refurbishment, alteration and new-build projects.
  • Procure and tender works; monitor on-site progress.
  • Review contractor valuations and variations.
  • Manage project programmes, costs and quality.
  • Provide technical advice to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Assist with fee proposals and business development.
  • Support graduate and junior Building Surveyors.

Associate Building Surveyor

A leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Building Surveyor to join their established Building Surveying team. The consultancy has an excellent reputation across the construction and property sectors, providing a full range of professional services to a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients.

As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for delivering a broad range of Building Surveying services across a varied portfolio of projects. You will work closely with senior colleagues and clients, taking a lead role in project delivery while also supporting the development of junior members of the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop their project management, technical and client-facing responsibilities within a growing consultancy.

Duties:

  • Building Condition Surveys and Schedules of Condition
  • Measured Surveys and preparation of technical reports
  • Defect diagnosis and preparation of remedial specifications
  • Preparation of specifications, schedules and tender documentation
  • Contract Administration
  • Employers Agent duties
  • Project management of refurbishment, alteration and new-build projects
  • Procurement and tendering
  • Monitoring works on site and reporting on progress
  • Reviewing contractor valuations and variations
  • Managing project programmes, costs and quality

Candidate Requirements:
