Job Title: Associate Building Surveyor

What You'll Be Doing:

As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day building surveying services while managing and growing your team. You'll play an integral role in client-facing activities, ensuring client satisfaction, and achieving targets set by the Directors. Key duties include:

1. Providing professional advice to clients on a wide range of property-related issues, including capital works schemes, feasibility studies, works prioritisation, and building/construction concerns.
2. Leading and managing a team to ensure performance targets are met while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
3. Delegating and monitoring project progress, ensuring deadlines are met, and addressing any challenges along the way.
4. Proactively seeking and developing new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
5. Conducting building condition surveys and preparing specifications, schedules of work, and drawings for capital improvement projects.
6. Overseeing project management of annual capital programmes across multiple sites.
7. Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
8. Meeting and managing financial targets for your team, set by the Directors.

Key Skills & Experience:

1. A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in building surveying.
2. A BSc/MSc in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
3. Chartered status (MRICS) or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
4. In-depth knowledge of both residential and commercial properties including previous experience in the education sector.
5. Experience in line management and team leadership.
6. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to approach challenges strategically.
7. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
