Job summary

Hexagon Group in London is seeking an Associate Building Services Engineer to join its growing team. The role covers surveys, feasibility, design and delivery of M&E projects for commercial buildings.

You will liaise with clients and contractors, manage projects through all stages, and develop engineering solutions for upgrades and refurbishment. A relevant engineering qualification is advantageous, with practical competence also valued.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience in building services engineering within a consultancy environment.
• You should understand mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings and have experience in design, specs, or delivery of building services projects.
• Ability to interpret existing installations and coordinate projects through to completion is essential.
• Strong communication with clients, contractors and other consultants, plus good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surveys and assessments of existing M&E installations to determine condition and refurbishment potential.
• Develop engineering solutions for upgrading and improving building services in commercial properties.
• Prepare feasibility studies, specifications, scopes of work and design documentation for M&E projects.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical design activities with designers, consultants and contractors.
• Manage projects through feasibility, design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Review contractor proposals and designs for compliance with project requirements.
• Attend site meetings, monitor progress and inspect installations for quality.
• Liaise with clients, property managers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist with contract administration, reporting and management of programme, cost and technical quality.
• Provide practical engineering advice considering operational requirements and building constraints.
