About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate / Associate Director to join our Environmental Consents nationwide team. This role is of strategic importance and involves identifying, winning, and delivering multidisciplinary inputs for energy projects supporting the UK’s Net Zero commitments. We seek individuals with a creative spirit, a dedicated approach, and a solid grounding in environmental design, assessment, and management throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage environmental teams across multiple sectors and projects
  • Expand our water sector offerings through thought leadership and business development
  • Provide environmental advice to clients and project teams
  • Promote sustainable design and environmental enhancements
  • Oversee project performance, including technical, quality, and safety aspects
  • Build and maintain client relationships, identify new opportunities
  • Develop innovative techniques and contribute to business growth
  • Support team development and promote an inclusive workplace culture
  • Contribute to WSP’s strategic objectives and uphold health and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in environmental or planning-related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in EIA delivery for major water projects
  • Knowledge of consenting processes like Habitats Regulations Assessments
  • Strong understanding of environmental issues
  • Line management experience and ability to develop teams
  • Track record of driving business growth
  • Excellent communication skills
