You will join one of the UK's leading planning consultancies, at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure and development, including Net Zero, ESG, Biodiversity Net Gain, digital transformation, and innovative consenting approaches. You will support key clients, such as Anglian Water, Thames Water, South East Water, and others, on major schemes to upgrade and futureproof the UK’s energy and water networks.

Your purpose:

Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Act as Planning or DCO Lead on planning applications and development consent orders, focusing on Water and Energy markets.
  • Contribute to bid preparations, tender submissions, and framework responses.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects, managing project delivery.
  • Support junior colleagues and team leaders.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary environment with environmental, engineering, and design colleagues across AtkinsRéalis UK and internationally.
  • Engage with market and client leads to support business growth.

What you can bring?

  • A relevant Planning or related degree; RTPI membership or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams is desirable.
  • Experience in Water and Energy projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO, EIA, or similar processes.
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-standard reports and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to apply knowledge to various planning tasks.
  • Experience in client relationship development and work-winning.
