We are a leading UK planning consultancy at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure and development, covering areas such as Net Zero, ESG, Biodiversity Net Gain, digital transformation, and innovative consenting approaches. You will have the opportunity to develop your career in Energy and Water markets, supporting key clients including Anglian Water, Thames Water, and others, on major schemes to upgrade and secure the UK’s energy and water infrastructure.

Your role:

  • Act as Planning or DCO Lead on Planning Applications and Development Consent Orders, focusing on Water and Energy markets.
  • Participate in bid preparation, tender submissions, and framework responses.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects, managing project delivery and team coordination.
  • Support junior colleagues and team leaders.
  • Collaborate with environmental, engineering, and design teams within AtkinsRéalis (UK and international).
  • Engage with market and client leads to support business growth.

What you bring:

  • A relevant Planning degree; RTPI membership or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in Water and Energy projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO, EIA, or similar processes.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt knowledge to various planning tasks.
  • Experience in client relationship development and supporting market growth.
