Job Role Overview

The Assistant File Handler (AFH) will work under a Partner within the Disease department, managing a caseload of Hourly Rate Industrial Disease claims, including but not limited to NIHL (Noise Induced Hearing Loss), HAVS (Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome), and other disease cases. The role involves performing delegated tasks to facilitate the progression and resolution of files as efficiently as possible. It includes working on complex, high-value claims in a fast-paced environment, fostering development in disease case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks assigned by the Partner, including ensuring compliance with client SLAs and court directions
  • Draft court documents and engage in negotiation and advocacy, including attending telephone hearings
  • Analyze evidence, report to clients, and liaise with Counsel/experts
  • Prepare bundles and maintain management information (MI)
  • Ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations
