About The Service

Cardiff Youth Service are seeking to recruit Assistant Youth Support Workers to develop and support our Digital Youth Work model.

We are committed to developing an evidential basis for Youth Work to thrive in the communities of Cardiff. Demonstrating impact and showcasing the positive journeys of young people is essential. Cardiff Youth Service are seeking to establish locality teams to support Youth Work and Wider Youth Support Services within the communities of Cardiff. The new structure seeks to create a locality model that is built on partnership working and collaborative practice.

This is a multi-disciplinary role in which the post holder will be required to undertake a range of Youth Work methodologies, including; open access Youth Work, detached and outreach work and curriculum based delivery.

You will be a key team practitioner and set standards for Assistant Youth Support Work practice.

You will form part of the Digital Youth Work delivery team and support the co-production of planning, delivery and evaluation of digital Youth Work practice with young people.

The post holder will be required to work three evenings a week and occasional weekends.

The Assistant Youth Support Worker in the Digital Youth Work Team will be required to support the delivery of a flexible and adaptable digital Youth Work programme.

What We Are Looking For From You

Any applicants need to comply with current qualification and registration outlined by the Education Workforce Council.

The successful candidates will have the passion and drive to delivering an excellent sustainable service to our young people, communities and wider service partners.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with young people and motivate them to participate in activities and events.

You will have a proven track record of working collaboratively and as part of a team as well as on own initiative.

You will have experience of supporting co-produced work with young people in a variety of digital technologies as well as developing a flexible approach to supporting young people's needs.

You will become a key part of the Youth Service team and have an active role in supporting the delivery of a digital model that seeks to support the best outcomes for young people.

This role is part-time at 9 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The advertised salary is based on a full-time role (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). The actual salary will be lower than the advertised salary because of the part-time hours and weeks worked.
