Job summary

Whittaker Group Ltd is seeking an Assistant Welding Engineer for their HSEQ department located in Stonehaven. The candidate will support the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) with welding-related activities and must be degree qualified or possess relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities include compliance with ISO standards, assisting in the maintenance of certifications, and ensuring all welding processes meet client requirements. Strong understanding of NDT, fabrication, and quality assurance systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in relevant technical discipline or demonstrable industry experience.
• Experience/knowledge of NDT, fabrication, and ISO standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance of ISO 3834 certification.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems.
• Liaise with subcontractors and ensure qualifications of welders.
• Assist with writing and developing new weld procedures.

Skills

Knowledge of NDT and Fabrication

Communication skills

Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 3834

Education

Degree in relevant technical discipline

TWI diploma at Technologist Level

Level II PCN in Radiographic Interpretation
