Job summary

Altrad are recruiting an Assistant Welding Engineer to support delivery of certified Asset Management services and projects across global energy and infrastructure markets.

Reporting to the Welding Engineering Department Head, the role will support sites in the UK and overseas by providing technical welding input and maintaining strong relationships with clients and site personnel, while contributing to welding procedures and training.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in metallurgy or a related engineering discipline.
• Preferably working towards or holding EWE and/or CEng status.
• Experience with high-pressure/high-temperature process plant environments.
• Knowledge of materials behaviour and fabrication in demanding service conditions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work in a team or independently.
• Good communication and ability to build relationships.
• Strong knowledge of joining technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing materials, welding, heat treatment, and NDT guidance to sites in the UK and overseas.
• Assist with review of welding-related documentation.
• Support welding and procedural development activities.
• Provide technical support across energy, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Maintain strong client relationships and site personnel relations.
• Support internal training activities when required.
• Apply joining technologies understanding to projects.
• Collaborate within the Welding Engineering team and work independently as needed.
