Job summary

Access Garage Doors Ltd in Crawley is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Operative to support delivery teams across the South East and Midlands. The role combines warehouse duties with customer-facing duties and requires a practical mindset and reliable work ethic.

You will check loads, assist with loading and unloading doors and spares, manage stock and order picking, operate Sage, and help with trade counter enquiries.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence with up to 3 points.
• Experience in warehouse operations and forklift use.
• Experience driving around the South East region.
• Physically fit with ability to perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicles are loaded correctly with doors and spare parts.
• Cover driving to regular customers in the South East and Midlands.
• Unload doors/spares, including self-unloading when customers are not present.
• Lead loading of vehicles for next day's deliveries.
• Assist in stores: picking/packing and using courier systems.
• Trade counter duties: assist customers, advise on products, despatch orders.
• Process new deliveries, check-in and booking.
• Manage warehouse movements, stock control and prep for large deliveries.
• Act as key holder in absence of Warehouse Manager.
• General warehouse duties, maintenance and van cleaning.
• Accurate use of Sage systems.
• Support Capital Building Plastics with trade counter and deliveries.

Job description

The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for helping maintain efficient warehouse operations and help deliver garage doors around South East and Midlands areas. There will also be warehouse duties as listed below. This is a customer facing role.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for checking vehicles are correctly loaded with correct doors/spare parts.
• Help cover driving to regular customers in the South East and Midlands areas.
• Unloading garage doors/spares from vehicles (customer not always present -sothis will involve self-unloading garage doors)
• Lead the team with loading vehicles for next day's deliveries
• Working in the stores during busy periods, which includes picking and packing correct items and using courier systems
• Trade counter work, helping customers with new enquiries, helping with product information and despatching doors.
• Dealing with new deliveries, checking off and booking in.
• Involved with warehouse movements, stock control, door rotation and prepping for larger deliveries.
• Key holder - looking after warehouse operations in absence of Warehouse Manager.
• General warehouse duties, maintenance and cleaning of vans.
• Accurate use of Sage systems.
• Helping Capital Building Plastics, cover the trade counter and delivering of good to customers.

Essential Skills/Competencies

• Clean Driving Licence, a maximum of 3 points is acceptable
• Experience in warehouse operations/forklift use.
• Experience of driving around the South East
• Physically fit;heavy lifting involved

Hours:7:30am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday
