Overall Purpose of Job

Loan Middle Office, within the Operations Division for EMEA is responsible for managing life cycle of a Loan. The team provides Credit Middle, Loan Transaction management, Facility Agency functions and additional agency function services aligned the credit facility agreement. The role is responsible to create, manage and monitor Risks and controls for Loan middle office tasks across MUFG.


Requirement to strengthen the safety and soundness across Loan Middle Office services.

Essential Functions


  • Responsible to create, manage and monitor Risks and controls for Loan middle office tasks across MUFG.

  • Manage and co-ordinate all New Product Approvals across the Loans products. Ensuring all new processes and products are approved with a process flow and controls implemented in the teams prior to Go Live.

  • Document, co-ordinate and report all Risk across the team including reporting incidents, near misses, self-Identified issues.

  • Report and co-ordinate Risk items with the first line control team. Ensuring all due dates are managed accordingly with actions closed in a timely manner.

  • Excellent Client Service when liaising with the Business and key stakeholders.

  • Represent Loan Services at Risk Forums with the Business and support function meetings.

  • Co-ordinate across Loan Services management team to ensure Risk and Controls and standardised and reported.

  • Lead and support key initiatives across EOO Loan Services to ensure EOO is servicing the Business, new deals.

  • Build a strong network across the Business and support teams on Loan services with a strong market sound understanding of the Loan Services.

  • Continually review and challenge processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and processes that allow highest possible facility usage with a view to maximising the revenue streams, in order to satisfy client and other stakeholder’s requirements.

  • Working with Head of LMO to achieve the short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals of the team related to Risk and control management.

  • Responsible for working autonomously to resolve operational issues as they arise, and providing, where necessary, the implementation of preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence of incidents.

  • Responsible for daily control management and monitoring for Loan Services. Working with the Loan Management team to resolve all breaks daily.

  • Lead system enhancements and share expertise in the implementation of new systems and/or systems upgrades.


Education


  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in core academic subjects

  • A Level (or equivalent) preferred

  • Additional language skills advantageous


Work Experience

As this an Assistant Vice President position the candidate should possess:



  • Considerable experience of working within a Financial Institution Middle Office Control function.

  • Sound experience of managing and monitoring controls across service teams.

  • Good Operational knowledge of the loan market

  • Experience of facilitating and chairing Stakeholders meetings


Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge requirements


  • Proficient in the standard Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)

  • Loan IQ preferred
