RPS has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Utilities Inspector to work with the Asset Management team, inspecting and providing feedback on the condition of assets and infrastructure to support the Water Consulting Business Stream across the UK.

This is a growing area for RPS, exemplified by recent opportunities such as the Scottish Water Asset Inspection framework.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts delivering Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to water industry clients. We face industry challenges that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.

Our Water Consultancy is involved in prestigious AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and impact.

About You:

As a key member, your role as Assistant Utilities Inspector is vital for project delivery. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on various capital projects.

Joining us means working on exciting projects, making a positive impact on millions in the UK, and contributing to communities. You will work with major water companies and play a role in shaping the future of water services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and report on water and sewage infrastructure assets.
  • Prepare inspection reports.
  • Document features and safety and structural conditions.
  • Perform additional tasks aligned with asset management objectives.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Achieve KPIs and support business growth.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience in civil/structural engineering inspection and water site work preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Experience inspecting structural features, pipelines, bridges, or tunnels is beneficial.
  • Civil/structural inspection skills from other utilities are also considered.
  • Proficiency in electronic reporting and MS 365 applications.
  • Solution-focused and collaborative mindset.
