Job summary

CFC is seeking an Assistant Underwriter for the US Professions team in London. You will learn to develop and underwrite profitable business, supporting broker relationships, renewals, and market initiatives.

The role offers exposure to professional liability products, general liability, cyber and property insurance, with opportunities to learn across diverse client segments and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Background in broking or underwriting
• Experience in Professional Indemnity or related professions
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound decision-making

Responsibilities

• Respond to broker enquiries and renewal submissions, delivering quotations within SLAs.
• Promote the Professions products, supporting launches and market awareness initiatives.
• Support creation and delivery of internal and external presentations on products and market trends.
• Conduct research to build technical expertise and stay informed on regulatory developments.
• Contribute to product, system, process and policy improvement projects.
• Support team performance through collaboration and delivery against objectives.
• Grow US Professions business by developing broker relationships and supporting marketing, including occasional US travel.
• Produce reports and management information to monitor team performance and activity.
