Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Transport Manager in Barnsley, S75. Salary £32,718.40 per annum, 40 hours per week, temporary to permanent contract. You will support the Transport Manager, help with driver compliance, and ensure high service standards in a fast-paced operation.

With logistics or traffic experience, you will step into Transport Manager duties during holidays, coordinate with external providers, and help drive safe, efficient transport operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic, transport or logistics environment.
• Excellent IT skills with Excel proficiency.
• Good geographical knowledge and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Transport Manager with daily driver pre-briefs and de-briefs.
• Promote and maintain high standards of customer service across the transport operation.
• Ensure driver compliance with all company policies, procedures and processes.
• Provide operational support and carry out Transport Manager duties during holidays/absence.
• Liaise with external service providers to ensure full compliance for vehicles and drivers.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, efficient and compliant transport operation.
