Job summary

Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking an Assistant Test Engineer for a reputable hydraulics-focused engineering business in the United Kingdom. The role offers extensive in-house training and hands-on development of hydraulic testing skills across pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes and related equipment.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, delivering high-quality work to tight tolerances, while reporting to the Test Supervisor and Technical Manager and pursuing a

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or workshop environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical or hydraulic drawings and schematics.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good IT literacy and understanding of workshop health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Testing hydraulic components such as pumps, motors and ancillary equipment.
• Fault finding and detailed inspection work.
• Compiling test certificates and performance graphs.
• Working on units from a variety of manufacturers; assisting with service work when required.
• Reporting to the Test Supervisor and Technical Manager.
