Assistant Technical Electrical Manager £42,000 - Portsmouth

Brief

Assistant Technical Electrical Manager needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Portsmouth. They are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Assistant Technical Electrical Manager who takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of High Voltage and Low Voltage Networks.

The successful candidate must hold a Level 3 NVQ as well as having a strong electrical background, with 18th Edition BS7671 certification. Experience in a healthcare environment is a bonus!

What the role entails

1. Assist in the provision of 24-hour maintenance services for electrical systems.
2. Support adherence to Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs) and statutory legislation.
3. Act as a supporting Authorised Person for assigned electrical systems under the guidance of the Technical Manager.
4. Aid in overseeing the daily management of engineering systems, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed on time and in accordance with operational standards.
5. Provide technical support for complex electrical infrastructure issues.
6. Help monitor equipment maintenance records and assist with follow-up actions.
7. Support the management of external subcontractors and ensure competency checks are in place.
8. Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

What experience you need

• ONC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Experience supporting Hard FM Services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong electrical background, with 18th Edition BS7671 certification.
• Experience assisting with the management of HV and LV systems.
• Knowledge of HTM, HBN, and relevant British Standards.
