Job summary

Sunandmoonstudios is seeking an Assistant Technical Director on a fixed term contract to support the technical team across multiple projects. You will help with the smooth running of the studio, identify and fix problems, and ensure the (predominantly) 2D production pipeline has the tools needed.

The role requires familiarity with animation software, production tracking tools and IT infrastructure, plus experience with Google Cloud/AWS, backups and device management.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and maintaining a 2D animation pipeline.
• Ability to setup and manage production tracking and pipeline tools.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS environments and cloud storage.
• Experience with licensing, backups and IT equipment management.
• Strong communication and problem solving across staff levels.

Job description

We're looking for an Assistant Technical Director to join the studio on a fixed term contract to help the technical team across multiple projects. The Assistant TD will help with the smooth running of the studio, identify and fix problems,and make sure everyone in the (predominantly) 2D production pipeline has the tools they need. The ideal candidate will understand the software used by 2D animation artists, as well as the needs of each department.

Responsibilities

Develop tools to improve the studio pipeline.

Setup and manage animation projects on production tracking and pipeline software.

Help to maintain data storage, backups and cloud storage solutions.

Offer remote technical support to staff and freelancers.

Help to maintain studio software installation, licensing and upgrades.

Assist in the management of studio owned workstations and IT equipment including setup, repair and distribution.

Help to set up and maintain virtual machines and cloud file servers.

Skills

• Familiarity with animation software, production tracking software and pipeline tools - Adobe Creative Cloud

Experience using Google Workspace, Google Cloud and/or AWS.
