Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Assistant Team Manager for the ERASE (Exploitation and Missing) Service, based countywide from The Nest, Nettlesworth. The role leads day-to-day operations, supervision, and safeguarding practice, guiding staff and aligning with contextual safeguarding principles.

You will work closely with the ERASE Team Manager and partners to ensure effective responses to exploitation, missing episodes and harm outside the home, promoting safer outcomes for vulnerable young

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting, supervising or leading staff in safeguarding.
• Strong knowledge of child exploitation, contextual safeguarding and adolescent risk.
• Experience of effective multi-agency working and partnership development.
• Ability to analyse risk and support safeguarding interventions.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision to ERASE staff.
• Monitor performance, workload, and quality assurance across the team.
• Lead and develop high-quality practice with a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach.
• Build multi-agency partnerships with Social Care, Police, Education, Health and voluntary sector.
• Represent the service at multi-agency meetings and drive safeguarding responses.
• Collaborate with Supporting Solutions teams (ASET, Rapid Response, Edge of Care).
