Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to lead the ERASE (Exploitation and Missing) Service within Durham Children's Services. The role focuses on improving outcomes for teenagers at risk of exploitation, missing episodes and harm outside the home, through effective supervision, safeguarding, and partnership working.

You will work with the ERASE Team Manager and colleagues to develop high-quality practice, oversee staff performance, and contribute to contextual safeguarding

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification and substantial experience with vulnerable adolescents.
• Experience in supporting, supervising or leading staff within safeguarding.
• Strong knowledge of child exploitation, contextual safeguarding and adolescent risk.
• Experience of effective multi-agency working and partnership development.
• Ability to analyse risk and support high-quality safeguarding interventions.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management, supervision and support to ERASE practitioners.
• Monitor performance, workload, and quality assurance across the team.
• Promote trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches with adolescents and families.
• Build and maintain multi-agency partnerships with Social Care, Police, Education and Health.
• Represent the service at operational and multi-agency meetings.
