Job description

Archer Social Care have an excellent opportunity for an assistant team manager to join the LAC team at Swindon

The right candidate will be expected to have the necessary skills and experience to function and undertake tasks that will enable the team to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people in the care of the team.

Responsibilities:

*Including but not limited to

  • To undertake work in accordance with legislation, guidance and protocols to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families.
  • To work collaboratively with various sources in addition to directly with families, children and professionals to analyse and determine the level of support and actions required.
  • To ensure that social workers record all case work, undertake assessments, analysis, decisions, care planning and actions on the necessary ICS systems - signing off all decisions made and discussing any issues that require clarification or further scrutiny with the relevant member of staff.
  • To offer guidance, supervision and support to practitioners to enable them to take actions to prevent family breakdown or escalation of issues / risk, accurately recording the advice and guidance given.
  • Lead and supervise team members on a day to day basis, including their performance management through regular supervision and appraisal, in order to deliver a high quality and consistent service.

Requirements:

  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Have knowledge and experience of statutory frameworks; policy and procedure; and best practice
  • Have a high level of determination, organisations skills, personal drive, energy, and ambition to achieve challenging targets and improve outcomes
  • Demonstrate sound assessment and case management skills
  • Be able to work in a busy environment and to tight time scales
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months - on the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today

Duration: 3-6 months initially

Hours: 9am-5pm
