Job summary

Freedom Leisure is hiring an Assistant Swim Teacher for Guildford Spectrum. You will help deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages, providing support to ensure learners achieve their goals. Training is provided, and successful applicants will join a supportive, inclusive team in a community-focused charity trust.

Hours are casual and as needed at Guildford Spectrum. A Level 1 Swim Teaching qualification and an Enhanced DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Level 1 Swim Teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• To assist children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre's swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children's parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline

We understand that engaging with customers and colleagues is not as easy as it sounds and sometimes comes with experience. We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues.

In the role of Assistant Swim Teacher, you will help deliver swimming lessons at Guildford Spectrum to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals.
