Passionate Social Care Professional | Advocating for Community Well-being & Supportive Services

We are looking for five Assistant Supported Living Managers to join our team across the London Borough of Southwark.

Each Assistant Supported Living Manger will work closely with a Supported Living Manager, providing leadership across 4 to 5 supported living services, supporting individuals with a range of needs, including complex health conditions, autism, profound learning disabilities, and behaviours that challenge.

This is an exciting and hands-on leadership role, combining direct support with operational responsibilities. You will supervise and guide a small team of staff, take ownership of key areas, and play a crucial part in promoting independence, upholding regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

The role includes both support and administrative duties and requires strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Flexibility is essential, as you will be working a mix of day and night shifts according to service needs and will also participate in the paid on-call provision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing outcome-focused, person-centred support
  • Leading and supporting a team to ensure high-quality care
  • Supervising staff and volunteers, and conducting appraisals and supervisions
  • Supporting people in all aspects of their lives, including personal, financial, social, and domestic skills
  • Promoting safeguarding, choice, and inclusion
  • Managing rotas and contributing to effective resource planning
  • Liaising confidently with families, advocates, professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting service documentation, audits, and quality assurance
  • Taking the lead in the absence of the Supported Living Manager
  • Participating in the on-call rota

What we’re looking for:

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a social care setting
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and CQC requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • IT confidence including Microsoft Office and care systems
  • A proactive, organised, and values-driven approach
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to travel between services

This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Additional reasonable responsibilities may be added in line with service needs, as deemed appropriate by Choice Support.
