Job summary

Johnstone’s Decorating Centre - Carrickfergus is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for a full-time, permanent position. You will lead in-store operations, deliver excellent customer service and support staff with product selection and promotional activity.

The role offers a competitive starting salary, annual reviews, and a 12% bonus on achieving budget. The position features a 39-hour week with overtime options, 33 days leave, a pension, and private healthcare, with store closures Saturday

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer facing environment is desirable
• Good communications skills with a positive customer focusses attitude
• Good understanding of IT systems
• Flexibility towards working hours and duties
• Driving License is desirable

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Store Manager in all operational and staffing issues.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure this is maintained by all staff, at all times.
• Undertake all required training to confidently select the correct product for customers’ needs and promote our brand.
• Be aware of promotional activity and help achieve sales targets.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the store.
• Oversee and be accountable for stock entering or leaving the premises.
• Process cash and card payments, place orders and check stock.
