Role overview:

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets. Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes for continuous store growth.
  • Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff. Build a motivated, high-performing team to increase store success.
  • Analyze sales data and financial reports to make quick, well-informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying opportunities operationally & commercially.
  • Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
  • Support the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.

Role objectives and KPIs:

  • Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
  • Drive all additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
  • Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets.
  • Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
  • Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
  • Ensure employee satisfaction scores or engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
  • Assist in keeping operational costs within the budget.

Skills and Experience :

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
  • Passionate about retail & understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
  • Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decisions.
  • Keen eye for detail & commerciality. Visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
