Job summary

Angling Direct in Cardiff is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running day-to-day operations, lead a team, and provide expert fishing advice to customers.

You will drive sales, maintain visual merchandising standards, assist with recruitment and onboarding, and help plan stock, promotions and store performance while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Passion for fishing with solid product knowledge.
• Experience in retail with some leadership responsibility.
• Good understanding of retail processes and health and safety requirements.
• Driven, results-oriented with a strong focus on customer service.
• Conflict-management capabilities and ability to motivate and maintain effective teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the store and step in to manage in the Manager's absence.
• Collaborate with staff to meet and exceed store targets, assist in recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
• Drive sales by delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining store and visual merchandising standards.
• Assist with store administration, including compliance with policies, procedures and banking; handle customer and staff issues.
• Report on buying trends and customer needs to contribute to strategic planning and improvement.

What You Will Do:
