Job summary

Persimmon Homes Mansfield is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in delivering a high-quality development on time and within budget. You will help oversee safety, quality inspections and daily site operations on a busy housing site in Mansfield.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, utility companies and local authorities, ensuring records are maintained and guidelines followed. A CSCS card, SMSTS and driving licence are preferred/required as applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience within the house building industry is essential.
• Understanding of NHBC/LABC/Premier standards
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
• Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence is required
• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, training may be provided

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of a construction site to ensure on-time delivery, to specification and safety standards
• Ensure quality and safety inspections meet group guidelines
• Coordinate with external parties such as warranty providers, local authorities and utilities
• Maintain accurate development records (inductions, HSE, timesheets, incident reports, QA checklists)
• Call off and store materials in line with guidelines
• Supervise workforce and subcontractors to meet deadlines and quality
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Care to meet targets and update plot progress
• Ensure site workforce and visitors comply with Health, Safety and Environment policies

What is the role?

The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager with the management of the construction site according to company guidelines and goals ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards
• Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines
• Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme
• Maintaining accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists
• Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines
• Supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget
• Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress
• Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents

What experience do I need?

• Experience within the house building industry is essential
