Job summary

Persimmon Homes is recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join their Construction Team and report into the Construction Director. The role manages the site against budgets, timelines and quality standards.

The role requires experience in house building, CSCS and SMSTS preferred, with UK driving licence; NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management preferred. Occasional travel across sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the house building industry is essential.
  • Understanding NHBC or LABC/Premier standards.
  • Understanding Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a construction site to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out per Group guidelines.
  • Coordinate activities with external third parties such as warranty providers, local authorities and utilities to achieve the build programme.
  • Maintain accurate records for the development including inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists.
  • Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and stored per guidelines.
  • Direct and supervise the workforce and subcontractors to meet time, quality, and budget targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Care to achieve targets and promptly resolve customer care issues.
  • Ensure compliance of the site workforce and visitors with Health, Safety and Environment policy to minimise incidents.
  • Travel across various sites in the region and occasional trips to other Group offices.

What is the role?

Persimmon Homes are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join their Construction Team and report into the Construction Director.

The purpose of the role is to manage the construction site according to company guidelines and goals ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards.

What You’ll Do As a Site Manager
  • Manage a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards
  • Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines
  • Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme
  • Maintaining accurate records for the development including but not limited to, Staff Inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists
  • Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines
  • Direct and supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget
  • Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress
  • Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents
  • This role will involve travel across various sites in the region as well as occasional trip to other Group offices
What experience do I need?
  • Experience within the house building industry is essential
