Job summary

Criterion Capitalis is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a flagship Central London hotel fit-out. You will support on-site operations, coordinate labour and subcontractors, and help keep the project on programme, on budget, and to the highest standards.

You will work closely with the Site Manager, contractors, architects, and QS teams to maintain quality, documentation, and site safety throughout development. A strong focus on proactive issue resolution is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working on construction or fit-out sites.
• Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing, quality and defect prevention.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders.
• Experience on residential, hotel or commercial fit-out projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of site operations.
• Coordinate labour, trades, and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and highlight potential delays or issues.
• Work closely with contractors, architects, quantity surveyors, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with the coordination and sequencing of works to maximise productivity.
• Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, drawings, and project documentation.
• Assist with site inspections, snagging, defect prevention, and close-out.
• Support the Site Manager in maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site organisation.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and all relevant statutory regulations.
• Help motivate and manage site teams, promoting a positive and productive working environment.
• Assist with regular progress reporting and provide clear updates to the Site Manager and project team.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact the programme.

The Role

About You

• Minimum 1year experienceworking on construction or fit-out sites, ideally in an Assistant Site Manager or similar role
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, quality, and defect prevention
• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders
• Experience working on residential, hotel, or commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable
• Proactive, practical, and solutions-focused with a strong attention to detail
• Able to work effectively as part of a wider project team while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety and maintaining high site standards
• SMSTS and First Aidqualifications
