What is the role?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to join our busy Construction team. This role reports to the Construction Director and will support the daily supervision of the onsite workforce.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager in managing the construction site according to company guidelines and goals, ensuring all aspects of the project align with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

The role will include:

1. Assist in managing the construction site to ensure development is completed on time, to specification, and in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
2. Ensure all quality and safety inspections meet control standards and are conducted per Group guidelines.
3. Coordinate with external parties such as warranty providers, local authorities, and utility companies to ensure the build program is achieved.
4. Maintain accurate records including staff inductions, health and safety documentation, timesheets, incident reports, and quality checklists.
5. Ensure timely calling off, checking, and storing of materials as per Group guidelines.
6. Supervise workforce activities, including subcontractors, to ensure timely completion, quality standards, and budget adherence.
7. Collaborate with other departments like Sales and Customer Care to meet targets, resolve customer issues promptly, and update on plot progress.
8. Ensure site workforce and visitors comply with the Group Health, Safety, and Environment Policy to minimize incidents.

What we need from you?

• Experience in the house building industry is essential.
• Understanding of NHBC standards.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
• Current CSCS Card.
• SMSTS certification is preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable; training will be provided if needed.
