Job summary

This is a site-based position reporting to the site manager. It will be a hands-on role looking after the day-to-day running of a busy landfill site. The role will include office-based duties ensuring compliance with company procedures, and a large presence onsite is required to control site operations and contractors, as well as assisting when necessary to cover staff absences.

Key responsibilities:

1. Day-to-day planning of environmental compliance requirements and waste operations with the Site Manager, Regional General Manager.
2. Daily management of the landfill site and other associated operations in accordance with site permit and planning permission conditions. This includes providing an on-site presence and daily liaison and management of plant operators.
3. Maintaining a planned preventative maintenance schedule, including checks for plant on site and updating the training matrix for plant operators.
4. Managing the day-to-day operations of the landfill site alongside the site manager to ensure smooth waste operations.
5. Ensuring compliance with the site management plan.

Requirements

Essential criteria for this role:

• Waste operational and environmental experience.
• Mobile plant operational experience.
• Experience dealing with contractors.
• Ability to understand numerical data.
• Knowledge of waste and environmental legislation.
• Ability to operate computer-based control systems, including Word and Excel.
• Report writing and waste return reports.
